Lazy Weekend

How was your weekend?

Weekends are typically so busy so I cherish those rare ones where I can sleep in. Saturday started out with sleeping until 10am and going to the local farmer’s market. I stocked up on my veggies so I can make more juice (Yay, we’re still juicing!). Then I finished watching True Detective. If you want to chat about this series, let me know! It’s a little too twisted for my taste but nonetheless great writing.

The best part of my weekend? Dinner at Holly and David’s house! They hosted us for a little apartment-warming, and I couldn’t ask for a better dinner!

On another note, my friend has two adorable cats and one dog. They have all been coming over for fellowship group on Wednesdays at my house. Look at this animal lover here!

I groomed the cats and was able to get a bunch of loose fur. With that, MG and I started to needle felt with fur (don’t judge, I know you’re jealous).

Basically, sculptural needle felting is poking at a piece of wool until the fibers are condensed and tangled. From there you form a three dimensional shape simply by poking at the piece of wool. Use your imagination! With my friend’s cat fur, I was able to make this:

Hehehehe! I’ll need to practice more until I can start taking orders but not too shabby for my first project right? Tehehe Can’t wait to give this to my friend Jenny and to see her reaction!

I just finished watching The Walking Dead series finale (OMG I need more!). And now I’m watching Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows Part 2 (Thanks ABC Family for having another marathon). Epic ending to the weekend!

Come back for some fun recipes this week!

Yacht Partay!

What did you do this weekend?

Oh me? You know… the norm… just went to a yacht party. That’s all. Boarded in gorgeous Sausalito. Curled my hair. Wore heels (not my running shoes). Typical fancy schmancy stuff. You know me!

Yeah right! My normal weekend is eating a lot. And a fancy weekend means hosting a LAN party. Saturday was a special occasion, our friend’s birthday bash on a yacht. It was fun to get dressed up for a reason and hang out with friends.

You know it will be a glamorous day when you start the day off with homemade brunch!

Homemade brunch
Rib-eye steak eggs benedict with bacon and a hash brown. We used the leftover steak from our Valentine’s dinner. Yum!

I’m taking reservations for brunch at the Lam house. Call me! Just kidding.

Back to the yacht… San Francisco Bay is always such a beautiful sight. Seeing Golden Gate Bridge never gets old, and sailing under it gives the bridge a whole new perspective.

GangThe gang – we’re having fun! I promise!

Whoa, that guy is handsome  <3 <3 <3

We drove by a scenic spot to look at the Bridge too. This foggy city honestly has my heart.

After the yacht party, four of us went to the city to have dinner. We went to one of my favorite restaurants, Limón Rotisserie, which is Peruvian food. The food is delicious, and the the dishes are affordable (~$70 for four of us, that’s under $20 a person). We then headed over to Hayes Valley to shop around and get dessert at Smitten ice cream. Smitten is a made-to-order ice cream shop in a shipping container. The ice cream is your typical gourmet ice cream with a really creamy texture. It’s about the experience and watching them make the ice cream with liquid nitrogen.

For those who got inspired by Smitten’s shipping container shop and you want to do something like that of your own, you must first gather enough information, such as Delta Mark’s guide on how to prep ground for shipping containers, so your out-of-the-box project will also be successful.

Saturday was a fantastic day! I take for granted how beautiful San Francisco is, and it’s days like these that remind me I should be ever grateful to be where I am.

Take a moment and count your blessings. What are you grateful for?

Happy Monday!
